Sailing is much more than just a sport, it’s a true human adventure and a communion with nature. For thousands of years, man has used the power of the wind to move around on the water, whether for trade, fishing or exploration. Today, sailing has become a leisure and competitive activity accessible to all, offering unique sensations of freedom, surpassing oneself and connecting with the environment.

What is sailing?

Sailing is the art of navigating a boat propelled by the force of the wind, using sails. It’s a sport that requires both technical skills (knowledge of the wind, manoeuvres, navigation) and physical skills (endurance, balance, coordination). But it’s also an activity that calls on intelligence, strategy and the ability to adapt, because weather conditions and the marine environment are constantly changing.

Sailing is an activity that provides incomparable sensations:

  • Freedom: moving across the water on the power of the wind alone, without a motor, is a unique experience of freedom and connection with nature.
  • Adventure: every sea trip is an adventure, with its share of surprises, challenges and discoveries.
  • Surpassing yourself: sailing requires technique, endurance and the ability to adapt, all of which allow you to surpass yourself and gain in confidence.
  • Respect for the environment: sailing is an environmentally-friendly sport that uses wind, a natural and renewable energy source, and raises awareness of the need to protect the marine environment.

I'm impressed by big sailing boats because they're big, of course, but also because you need a lot of skill to sail them, don't you think?
